The work of George Koll (1941-2013) - hilarious, controversial, insightful drawings and writings - is shown for the first time in public at the Mike Kelly Gallery at Beyond Baroque. George Koll lived an alternative life in the underground of San Francisco, and his writings and art are testimony to his life. He survived, - sometimes thrived - under the radar, longer than most, if not all of his friends and contemporaries of the Beat Generation, the 1960’s, 70’s and beyond. The Venice Institute of Contemporary Art is very proud to present this exhibition at Beyond Baroque, which is one of the United States' leading independent Literary/Arts Centers and public spaces dedicated to expanding the public's knowledge of poetry, literature and art through cultural events and community interaction. A definitive book on the project is being prepared.
