The Venice Institute of Contemporary Art (ViCA) and the Long Beach Museum of Art Annex presented Art in a New Place. The venue - known as LBMAx - featured 39 works curated from artists featured in the ViCA 2017 Annual by Ron Nelson, Executive Director of LBMA. The exhibit included drawing, painting, photography and sculpture from internationally known artists. The exhibition is part of ViCA's mission to present Southern California artists - and included Peter Alexander, Sonja Schenk, Barbara Kolo, John Eden, Linda Sue Price, and Ned Evans.
“I’m very proud of this exhibit and look forward to its presentation to the community. The Art Exchange has become an important venue for showcasing established and emerging artists’ works and this exhibit contains an exciting combination in several medium by both.”
-Ron Nelson, Executive Director LBMA
“At ViCA, we curate well known artists with up-and-coming artists because we believe it’s the most effective way to preserve and promote our creative community - in this case we’ve included those from The Long Beach/San Pedro Harbor area, which has become a another creative hub for Southern California. We’re so pleased that Ron Nelson has made a selection of these for ARTX - we know people will want to see this show.”
