In partnership with Machine Art Studio we open "Wall to Wall" a street art exhibition in downtown San Pedro Sunday, November 17 at 2pm at their gallery, featuring MegZany, and Tanner Goldbeck.
In his essay for this show, Curator, Juri Koll writes:
“One of the most unique moments in a street artists life is when she or he exhibits in a gallery. Working on a monumental scale outside, often on a time limit, and with a sometimes skeptical public walking by and watching as they extend their reputation onto their newest big piece, street artists build a special relationship to their environment, a special toughness. It shows in their work as insight into the strength of the human spirit, the fleeting nature of fashion, the insanity of politics, and of the beauty of life itself.
Then they bring the vital energy of the street into a gallery - where the walls are often white, the floors are smooth, detritus free and people tend to arrive clean and civilized.
This presents a challenge for both artist and curator, as we devise together best ways to tell their story most effectively. We have enjoyed this process with these artists and think you will too.”
